AI Tool Testing exists because the AI tools market in 2026 ships a new "Cursor killer" every Tuesday, and every "Top 10 AI Writers" list ranks the brands that pay the highest affiliate commission rate. Useful comparisons that survive contact with real work are surprisingly rare.

How we work

We pay for the subscriptions and use the tools for real work — actual articles, actual code, actual production tasks. Not staged benchmarks designed to make a demo pop. Every guide documents what we ran, how the tools performed on it, and what failed.

We do not accept paid placements or sponsored coverage. When a product we recommend has an affiliate program, we use it — that's how the testing budget gets funded. The affiliate relationship does not influence which product wins a category. If a tool drops a major update, we retest before the recommendation moves.
